First Film Production
The filming of the music video will start on November 26th during Thanksgiving break. I had chosen this specific day to give myself a good head start on the concept of how and where the filming will take place. Most of the filming will be done by me, while my other teammates will be the actors in the music video. The filming process will take up to four days to a little over a week to acquire the right media to match the theme within the video. The main theme focuses on a girl who is being stalked by her ex and how she tries to leave it alone, but it just gets worse. I wanted the theme to be very meaningful and easy to understand for the audience, as it goes on, it may be relatable for some viewers or very interesting to watch. For the beginning process of filming, I came up with two designated places to start the filming process. Firstly, I chose the park as it is a very localized area and would fit perfectly with the motive of the music video. The park seemed to be a great choice to start the music video, to give the audience an idea of what the character was doing in the scene and how it would impact the character later on. It creates a confusing message to the woman in the video as she doesn't know who could be watching her at that time while she is in the park. Another area in which I had chosen to film during the night would be on a road/street that is very dimly lighted or has little to no light. This type of area to film in will give the audience an idea of the ambiance that is being captured within the music video and how it relates to the music and the character later on as well. The character will be walking along the side of the road in this dim lighting, feeling as if someone is watching her. The park and the road are the two main areas in which I will be filming. As the character is going on a walk, on a date, or just speaking with a friend, she will always be in the place at least once to three times within the entirety of the music video. The music that was chosen for the music video is Dark Red by Steve Lacy. This song has a very deep and powerful beat and is a great song for the theme of the music video. I wanted the music video to have a very powerful meaning and appearance for the audience so they could have a good understanding of what was going on.
