Enhancing Storyboard Production

Image
The opening scene features a close-up of a text message displayed on the protagonist's phone, left on a table. The ominous words, "You won't forget me," immediately set an unsettling tone. By anchoring the shot to the phone in an otherwise still environment, the scene emphasizes the isolation and vulnerability of the main character. The next sequence takes place in the protagonist’s bedroom, where she’s seated, tightly gripping her phone. Her paranoia comes through in subtle, deliberate gestures, furtive glances over her shoulder, and quick looks toward the closed door. The stillness of the room amplifies her apprehension, allowing tension to build naturally through her reactions to the quiet. The outdoor scene shifts the setting to a park bench, where the protagonist sits alone, nervously scanning her surroundings. Her gaze lingers on a shadowy figure in the distance. The figure doesn’t move, but its presence feels threatening, injecting the moment with a quiet mena...

The Peer Review

Image
Day two of editing felt like a major step forward. Everything came together with a much more focused and professional vibe, compared to the first day. I really tried to focus on the syncing of the emotional visuals with the progression of the music. The audio editing software was super helpful, especially for the beat matching, and it made the transitions feel smoother and more intentional. Aligning the emotional parts of the visuals with the music's progression shows our commitment to cohesive storytelling. I also wanted to add some motion blurs to some scenes to give the video a more cinematic look to elevate the overall feeling. The color grading part took quite a while but was very necessary for everything to stay visually consistent, especially across shots with different types of lighting.  It also played a key role in maintaining the visual consistency and reinforcing the mood of each scene. We had to make sure to incorporate narrative elements that added emotional depth and...

Second Editing Production

Image
On the second day of editing, my main focus was refining the structure we had built on day one. Once the foundation was set, I concentrated on improving the narrative flow and syncing the visuals more precisely to the music. A large part of my day involved revisiting scenes to make sure the emotional beats of the video matched the progression of the song. Audio editing took up a significant amount of time, especially when adjusting the timing of the music. Although the original track already had a strong structure, I made small changes to better fit the mood of each scene. Using audio software, I trimmed and shifted parts of the track without losing the song’s original tone or feel. This helped create smoother transitions between visuals and music. Matching the beat and tempo with visual cuts became one of my key techniques during this stage. I carefully aligned cuts and effects with the rhythm of the music to emphasize emotional moments. This made the video more engaging and exp...

Editing Production

Image
After wrapping up our first day of filming, I couldn’t wait to dive into editing. Editing is where the magic happens. The editing process is what turns random footage into an actual story that connects with people. The goal was to really bring out the emotion of the song and make sure that the visuals flowed smoothly with the audio. I used two different editing apps, one for piecing everything together, and the other focused more on color grading and aesthetics. Even though I thought it’d be quick, just getting the basics down took me around two hours. Lining up clips to match the music was harder than I expected. Some cuts felt awkward or too jumpy, and that totally ruined the mood. To fix it, I used beat-matching techniques, which helped the visuals hit right on each beat or lyric drop. This instantly made the transitions feel smoother and gave the whole thing more emotion. One of the most fun (but challenging) parts was color grading. The original clips looked okay, but they didn’t ...

Second Film Production

Image
The first production day of the music video was quite productive and quick. I started the filming at around 12 PM on November 26th, and I was able to get 4-6 shots for the opening scene of the video. My teammates accompanied me during this recording time to help with props and ensure the script was followed correctly. I began with different panning movements for the first couple of shots to achieve a wide and narrow view of the scene the actor was in. The weather was blazing hot, which made the process slightly challenging, but the excitement of bringing our creative vision to life kept the energy high. We set up our equipment in a park, where the first scene was to be captured. The natural light was both a blessing and a challenge. It added a beautiful glow to the shots but required careful adjustments to avoid overexposure. As we prepared for the first take, the actor rehearsed their lines while we finalized the framing of the shot. The initial takes focused on establishing the...
