The Peer Review

Day two of editing felt like a major step forward. Everything came together with a much more focused and professional vibe, compared to the first day. I really tried to focus on the syncing of the emotional visuals with the progression of the music. The audio editing software was super helpful, especially for the beat matching, and it made the transitions feel smoother and more intentional. Aligning the emotional parts of the visuals with the music's progression shows our commitment to cohesive storytelling. I also wanted to add some motion blurs to some scenes to give the video a more cinematic look to elevate the overall feeling. The color grading part took quite a while but was very necessary for everything to stay visually consistent, especially across shots with different types of lighting.  It also played a key role in maintaining the visual consistency and reinforcing the mood of each scene. We had to make sure to incorporate narrative elements that added emotional depth and encouraged repeat viewings. After I had put everything together as a rough draft, I shared it with my creative team. Their feedback was quite important to me as they were honest and super valuable. I used their ideas and perspectives to create a meaningful revision to the texts. I experimented with pacing and framing parts of the edits to better match the song's emotional rhythm by mixing quick cuts with longer, more reflective moments. Their feedback process sparked many new ideas that made the video stronger than the original plan. There were a lot of difficulties and challenges with the syncing issues. It was challenging to find the right balance between manual edits and automated tools that helped a lot with the color grading process, but I overworked them. It was great to see everything come together as one, and everything starting to come into alignment and tell a great story. Overall, today was quite heartening and hard work as the editing became super powerful.  I was very proud of the progress and how the film came alive. Even though it was very exhausting, everything was able to be put together and brought us closer to the final vision.
