Second Day of Production
The second production day of the commercial was constructed on Wednesday from around 3:00 pm to 6:00pm. The process of editing took around 3 hours and granted an easy start to the commercial with the previous output of the 3-4 shots filmed on Monday. The shots that were previously filmed were synced together before being analyzed and putting them together. This made an accessible system for editing within my two apps. Before starting my editing journey, I had to analyze and gather all the data before adding any clips or corrections to the work. The analysis of each part of the clips took around 1 hour in total before I could start editing fully. The analysis is meant to help the program by preventing any viruses or encryption from affecting the final product of the commercial. I prefer to analyze my work as it helps my editing apps and helps me figure out how to work out the shots together into one. Once I finished my analysis, it was time to start with the actual editing. The actual editing process includes cropping, zooming, color correction, and restoration. All these methods that are used during editing help to enhance the look of each shot and make a good-looking commercial altogether. Each part of the different editing styles on these shots took around 20-30 minutes for each shot. I started my editing off with the cropping so I could align the shots together easily, so it would be leveled and smooth. Next was the zooming and restoration of the characters and background. Although all the clips were aligned, there was still an issue with their distance and certain defects; each shot was either too close to the camera or too far from the camera. This part of the editing required zooming in to equalize the clips and sync in the different walking. The zooming helped to fix these defects and helped to align the clips correctly to make them evenly leveled. Restoration within the editing helped to erase objects or unwanted images in the background or on the character to make the shot look cleaner. This helped to restore pieces that were missing or needed to be removed from the shot. Lastly, the color correction was the only part of the entire project that took over 30 minutes to complete. This process took over 30 minutes due to the challenge of matching each color effectively and accurately. These overall editing formats helped to create the beginning section of the commercial and will lead into the finishing of this commercial.
