For this music video, we intend to focus on the traditional approach rather than the abstract structure. We want to emphasize the process of pre-production, conceptualization, and quality to ensure clarity and impact from this music video. We envision creating a narrative and performing it with a somber and sad tone that will deeply convey the story and meaning behind the message. The song "Die with a Smile by Bruno Mars perfectly aligns with our envisioned concept. It provides many layers of emotions and interpretative depth that can appeal to our intended genre. It is one of our top recommendations on our list of songs. Alternatively, "Dark Red by Steve Lacy" is also a strong consideration for our topic. Its slow-building tempo and clash of intensity really bring a fierce and scary feeling to show emotions of agitation, intimidation, or even fearful behaviors. These two songs are our best fit for this genre and will guarantee a great liking choice from our audience. Additionally, songs under consideration include "Gilded Lily by Cults and " I Can't Handle Change by Roar." Through my deep research of alternative music videos, I came to find that it is very common to use medium close-up shots as well as wide shots when the story of the video is either sad or scary. It brings the audience's attention to the area in which the character is surrounded and how they feel in that certain shot. These wide shots help enhance the feeling of loneliness as the audience will focus on what is going on around the character rather than the character itself. The shot will ideally be used in our music video to add emphasis to our message. Within many music videos, it is very common to include establishing shots. The shots help the audience to identify what is going on with who, what, where, and when. I believe that this shot should be used with the creation of our music video to quickly establish the setting and the emotions of our characters. Editing and sound within our music video will stay the sound as we want it to be, as traditional as possible. The inclusion of diegetic sounds and sound bridges will be used to create an idea of what will happen in the next scene to prepare the audience for the cut scene. Overall, we want to keep our music video very traditional; we will follow all the rules and be very precise with our production to make it as traditional and understandable as possible.
