Third Day of Production

Image
The Last production day continued on Friday from around 4:00pm to 8:00am on Saturday morning. The last production day was quite hectic and restless due to all the editing and photo combinations. On that Friday night, I was able to analyze and finish all the necessary shots to finish and wrap up the commercial. The process of these last producing moments helped me to see and understand a lot more about the highs and lows of the filmmaking process. A major challenge that I faced during the overall production was how to find the right editing style and editing app to make this commercial come alive. There were many trials and errors during the process that helped me to discover a certain visual style that will suit the message easily for the commercial. During the process of filming, I had a very clear concept in my mind of how I wanted the commercial to look and how to spread the message easily towards the audience. Though this process seemed quite easy to me, the editing sequence became...

Second Day of Production

Image
The second production day of the commercial was constructed on Wednesday from around 3:00 pm to 6:00pm. The process of editing took around 3 hours and granted an easy start to the commercial with the previous output of the 3-4 shots filmed on Monday. The shots that were previously filmed were synced together before being analyzed and putting them together. This made an accessible system for editing within my two apps. Before starting my editing journey, I had to analyze and gather all the data before adding any clips or corrections to the work. The analysis of each part of the clips took around 1 hour in total before I could start editing fully. The analysis is meant to help the program by preventing any viruses or encryption from affecting the final product of the commercial. I prefer to analyze my work as it helps my editing apps and helps me figure out how to work out the shots together into one. Once I finished my analysis, it was time to start with the actual editing. The ac...

First Day of Production

Image
In the production of this commercial, I was the main lead, starring as the videographer and so-called director. Being the group's videographer gave me the authority to tell each character within each scene how to walk at a certain pace and distance. As I started production, the creation and timing of each step between each character needed to be very precise for editing.  On the first day of filming, I could process 3-4 different shots in a limited time and area. Each shot represented a certain shoe with a corresponding background and was located in different parts. The production started at around 6 pm on Monday evening and ended with shots gathered at around 8pm. The beginning of the commercial shoot came to an end with around 1 to 2 shots that were developed in a single area within an hour. The time progressed very quickly as we had limited space and limited time. The production of these shots was very precise and close together, creating an easy shot to unite when it is ...

Storyboard

Image
First Template:      The shot starts off from a back angle of the character walking forward away from the camera. Showing only the character's heels, calf, and bottom of the beginning shoe. Second and Third Template:      It later pans to the side of the lower body angle to show the different shoes as the character continuously walks forward. As the character keeps walking each shoe changes as well as the scenery. Fourth Template:      After the last set of regular shoes changes the character's final transition will end up in Nike cleats. The Nike cleats will be shown from the side and will later be used as an action to continue with the next template. Fifth Template:      After the Nike cleats are shown, the camera will pan to the goal facing the character and will show the shot that the character takes while wearing soccer cleats. Last Template      After the character has taken their shot at the goal, t...

The production's overall focus and central principle is to create a TV advertisement to reach an audience interested in Nike shoe production and/or other merchandise. The creation of this advertisement will proclaim and circulate the display of Nike shoes and how they positively influence people. In this introduction, the main idea is to draw the attention of the observer through sounds and editing, such as sound bridges or ambient sounds. These sounds will help to catch the eye of the observer before the commercial starts to air or even show any details. The sounds also play a good part in emphasis and connection to each shoe or image. After the introduction and welcome to the sound, shots s...

The Pitch

Image
My groupmates and I wanted our commercial to focus on creating  additional recognition towards well-established brands, such as Vans, Nike, Gatorade, and Essentials. We wanted to advertise these brands and highlight the amazing quality of their known merchandise, such as backpacks, socks, and clothing. The overall goal was to encourage our audience to buy and support such brands that could benefit both our platform and the company's platform. This effect could increase engagement and promotion for our supporting brands. For our first pitch, we aim to highlight the improved Gatorade powder packs. These portable, convenient pouches offer easy hydration for those who truly use them, such as teenagers, athletes, outdoor workers, and cas...
